About the thesis
Autonomous boats lose each other in fog long before they lose the shore. The thesis designs a beacon that costs less than a lamp, runs a season on one cell, and lets a flotilla of research skiffs keep formation by listening rather than looking. Field trials on the Troll fjord held station through four whiteouts.
