About the thesis

Everything the station uses arrives by ship, salt included, while the wind carries tonnes of it past the door. The thesis builds and runs a wind-driven harvester that pulls sea salt and a handful of useful minerals from the air, and works out at what scale it beats the ship, which turns out to be smaller than anyone expected.
